Should You Hike Alone Or With Someone Else
If you are going to be planning a hiking trip, and you are going to be going through some tough terrain during the trip, you are going to really have to plan ahead in order to stay safe on the trail, and to know where you are. If you are a new hiker, and you have just begun the sport recently, you never want to go hiking on your own. It is dangerous, you can get lost, you can get injured, and if you are alone, you are not going to have anyway to call for help. Even if you have a cell phone, you probably will never get reception or access to place a call. So, when you are just starting out in the sport, you really have to make sure that you are never out on a hiking trail, especially a challenging one, on your own.
For the more experienced hikers, who have been doing it for years and are pros, going out on your own is a bit safer, but it is not the smartest thing to do. Although you probably know the major hiking trails, and you are familiar with the tough spots on a hike, you still never know when something unexpected might be lurking, and something just might go wrong. And, if the worst does happen, you are left out in the middle of nowhere, with no one knowing where you are, in order to go out and get you the help that you need. So, even if you do know what you are doing, it might be a much safer choice to hit the hiking trails with a friend.
Although you do not have to hike with a partner, especially if you are more experienced, it is alway a smart choice to do so.
