July 24-27 Upper Rogue River Trail / Crater Lake (
)
The Upper Rogue River Trail (URRT), which closely follows the beautiful Rogue River, offers hikers a plethora of different hiking experiences. As it traverses across high meadows, forested valleys, ridge-top rock outcroppings, and beautiful river wetlands, the URRT provides the hiker with a bountiful supply of breath taking scenery and fresh Oregon Air.
While trekking down this trail in between wildflowers and huckleberry bushes, hikers are almost guaranteed to encounter some of the creatures that have made southern Oregon their home. I have personally seeing foxes, owls, deer, otters, beavers, and even black bears. No matter how big or how small, we will enjoy our furry friends and get to share their home?the great outdoors.
Come join me, Sergei Boutenko, on an epic journey across the Oregon Wild!
We will begin by hiking for three and a half days along this miraculous trail. Together we will learn about wild edible plants as well as basic survival skills. We will swim in crystal clear rivers and eat delicious, ORGANIC, raw food. Most importantly will share this experience in the company of like-minded people and build bonds that will last a lifetime.Finally, after completing our hike we will pile into a 16-passenger van and finish our trip by visiting Crater Lake National Park. Crater Lake is the deepest Lake in the Untied States and the second deepest lake in the world! It was formed 7,700 years ago when Mt. Mazama (a 12,000 foot tall volcano) exploded. Today Crater Lake is located at 8,100 feet and offers visitors epic views with its purple, aqua marine water. Conveniently for us, Crater Lake is located 15 miles away from where we will be hiking!
As I sit here writing this description I can already feel that this is going to be another great summer!
